1 About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Nairobi Outpatients Center ("NOC", "we") for using Cheza. By creating an account or paying for a plan you agree to them, to our Privacy policy and to our Refund & cancellation policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Cheza.
2 Your account
- Cheza accounts are for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over, acting for their child. One account is for one family and one child.
- Give true, up-to-date details, especially the M-Pesa phone number, because payment prompts are sent to it.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell the clinic straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3 Cheza supports therapy; it does not replace it
Cheza's therapy games follow the Cheza Social Applied Behavior Analysis (Social ABA) protocol and are chosen from your answers to the questionnaire. The assessment and progress report come from your own answers; they help choose games and track progress, and are not a diagnosis. Cheza does not replace care from a doctor or therapist.
Cheza is not an emergency service. If your child is unwell or in danger, go to the nearest hospital or call emergency services.
4 Plans, prices and payment
- Bronze: $25 for 24 new therapy games
- Silver: $40 for 48 new therapy games
- Gold: $60 for 100 new therapy games
- Games plan prices are shown in US dollars. M-Pesa charges the equivalent in Kenya shillings, which is shown on the M-Pesa prompt before you enter your PIN.
- All payments are made with M-Pesa. A plan or session starts only when M-Pesa confirms the payment.
- From each games plan payment, NOC passes a fixed platform fee of KES 100 to the developer who builds and runs Cheza. It is part of the price shown, not an extra charge.
- We may change prices. A new price never affects a month or session you have already paid for.
5 Your games month
- Each payment opens your account for 30 days, counted from the moment you pay, and gives you that plan's number of new therapy games straight away.
- Cheza chooses the games from your latest questionnaire. You answer it each paid month; answers given up to 7 days before you pay still count. Parents cannot pick or swap games, and the same game is never given to your family twice.
- If you pay again before the 30 days are up, your current month ends and a fresh 30 days starts that day with new games. Unused days are not carried over.
- When the 30 days end, your account locks: you will not be able to open or download games or PDFs, or see your child's results, until you pay again. Please download and print your games before the month ends.
- If you leave the "M-Pesa prompt when my month is up" option on, we send a prompt to your phone near the end of each month. Nothing is paid unless you enter your M-Pesa PIN. You can turn it off in your account.
6 Playing safely
- For the best results we recommend at least 6 hours of play every day, using the games your child enjoys. Your child does not have to play every game.
- An adult must supervise every game. Some games use water, small objects, food or movement. Choose toys that suit your child's age, watch for choking hazards and allergies, and stop if your child is hurt, frightened or very upset.
- Change or skip any game that is not safe or suitable for your child, and ask your therapist if you are unsure.
7 Practical Family Training (PFT)
- PFT sessions take place at the hospital and last 2 hours each. They cost KES 4,000 per session or KES 15,000 for a block of 5.
- You can pay for PFT only while your games month is running.
- After M-Pesa confirms your payment, your PFT file opens and the clinic gives you a time for each session, during clinic hours (Mon – Sat, 8:00am – 4:00pm).
- Please arrive on time with your child, your printed games and your play tracker. To change a session time, contact the clinic before the session.
8 The therapy games are copyright
The therapy games, printouts, questionnaire, protocol and the rest of Cheza are © Dr Mary Madumadu and Nairobi Outpatients Center. You may view, download and print them for your own family's use. Please do not share, sell, copy, publish or upload them anywhere else.
9 Using Cheza fairly
Do not share your login, try to get into other people's accounts or staff areas, interfere with the site or payments, or use Cheza for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. A clinic administrator may also retire an account when therapy has finished; a retired account is locked and stops receiving renewal prompts. Call the clinic if you want to come back.
10 Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Cheza available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions, for example when M-Pesa or the internet is down. As far as the law allows, NOC is not responsible for loss or harm caused by using the games without adult supervision, by ignoring these terms, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Kenyan consumer law.
11 Changes, disputes and Kenyan law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you about important changes. If you have a complaint, please contact us first and we will try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Kenya.
